The average handyperson hourly rate in the UK is around £30, although this varies by location.
According to Checkatrade, who have data on handymen across the whole of the UK,
most handymen in charge around £30 per hour on average, although rates will obviously vary based on their expertise and where you are. You might expect to pay up to £50 per hour in the likes of London, for example.
What are your handyman prices in Wolverhampton and surround areas?
I currently charge a mixed rate of £45 for the first hour, then £25 for subsequent hours. So to give an example, a 4 hour job would break down like this:
Hour 1: £45
Hour 2: £25
Hour 3: £25
Hour 4: £25
Total: £120
Average over 4 hours (£120 / 4): £30
As you can see although it starts more expensive, if the job is going to a few hours then looking at the average hourly rate for the whole job makes most sense. That brings my price down to the same as most handymen charge: £30 / hour.
Do handymen charge for a quote?
I have heard of some handymen charging to quote for work - they might charge their initial hourly fee so they can size the job up. However, Get The Job Done does not charge to quote, and I'm happy to give you a price over the phone if it's something fairly common and straightforward. Either way there are never any hidden charges if you hire me as your handyman and you're based in or around Wolverhampton.
I need a handyman. Can you quote for my job?
